Many students are not as academically successful their first semester as they had hoped to be. Students might have been faced with many challenges, such as understanding College policies and procedures (such as college deadlines), making the adjustment from high school to college, time-management/ self-management, where to go for help (academic, health and financial), culture shock, and some may have an extenuating circumstances which were beyond their control, the list can be endless.
At Buffalo State College, we have implanted the Academic Recovery (AR) program. AR is a program designed to help undergraduate students on academic warning/probation return to good academic standing. The AR participants work one-on-one with AR coaches who assist students in their academics while connecting students to various campus resources, such as tutoring, the Counseling Center, and the Student Accessibility Services office, etc.
If a student chooses not to participate in the Academic Recovery Program they will be dismissed from Buffalo State and all registrations, housing contracts, and meal plans will be administratively canceled by the college.
If a student has any questions, please email Leasa Rochester-Mills at firstname.lastname@example.org.
