I started at Buffalo State College (Buff State) in fall 2019 as a transfer and an ESL student. I was uncertain about my writing abilities during my first semester because my major required critical thinking in writing, especially research papers. Not only this, but the COVID-19 pandemic also became a significant challenge in continuing my education when classes went entirely online. I was hopeless and depressed because I preferred in-person sessions rather than online sessions. However, I didn’t give up here because I knew services would still be available for students even if they were only virtual. Therefore, I continued going to the Buff State Writing Center for assistance throughout my undergraduate journey, and this always allowed me to put my best foot forward in assignments. Even though the tutoring sessions were online, they were valuable because they gave me one-on-one time to learn skills I needed to become better and make me feel more confident with the work I turned in. Moreover, the Writing Center tutors went above and beyond to guide me to fulfill my assignments’ requirements confidently. I was so grateful because I could utilize the available assistance and opportunity at the Writing Center while finishing my undergraduate study. I could not feel thankful enough for those tutors who helped improve my writing skills and English. Thank you, everyone, in the Writing Center, for all the help for these challenging years.
